Software process models play a crucial role in managing and controlling the software development process. This work introduces the DeltaProcess approach for process model comparison, which makes it possible to compare versions of a process model with high flexibility regarding the schema and the types of changes that must be identified. By allowing for full versioning of a process model, DeltaProcess strongly contributes to systematic change management of large and complex process descriptions.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Peter Liggesmeyer has been holding a chair in Software Engineering: Dependability in the Department of Computer Science at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern and has been director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE) since 2004. He is founder and speaker of the Fraunhofer Alliance Embedded Systems. Prof. Liggesmeyer has received several scientific awards, including the Software Engineering Award of the Ernst Denert Foundation in 1993. He is the author of more than 100 scientific articles and books, especially the standard reference work "Software Quality" (2002, 2nd edition 2009). For more than 20 years, Prof. Liggesmeyer has now been in frequent demand as a lecturer for industry seminars and has been advising many leading companies in matters of technology issues.
